‘A MELBOURNE MISCELLANY’

‘DANCES TO CELEBRATE
THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE MELBOURNE AND DISTRICT BRANCH’

2019 marks 50 years since the formation of the Melbourne and District Branch of the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society and members were asked to devise dances to mark this auspicious occasion.

The resulting book – ‘A Melbourne Miscellany’ contains thirty - one dances.  Six of the dances have original recorded music which can be downloaded at ballaratscd.com.  It is planned to have the musical notations for alternative tunes, suitable for the other dances, uploaded to the Branch website in the future.

The 44th Australian Winter School, hosted by the Melbourne and District Branch, will take place at the University of Melbourne in July 2019.  Copies of the book will be available at the Winter School, from Sunday 7 July 2019.  The cost will be $10 a copy, but bulk purchases – 10+ copies – will attract a discount.

Enquiries – Frances Wallace – drywall@optusnet.com.au
